Where is the human conscience? "The Human Conscience"

Image
ALBINUS CHIEDU   According to Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, the word “conscience” means the part of you that judges how moral your own actions are, and makes you feel guilty about bad things that you have done or things you feel responsible for. “So, the greatest dragon was cast out, that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:9). Since the above incidence of Satan’s rebellion, there have been either of two forces controlling the heart of man, God or Satan. However, man has a choice as to whose instructions to follow. “Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey whether you are slaves to sin which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness?” (Romans 6:16). Unfortunately, many people have sold their hearts to Satan, but yet, carry the identity card of God. This h...

Foolishness in Marriages And Relationships

Image
According to the Cambridge Advanced Learners’ Dictionary, the word “foolish” means “unwise, stupid or not showing good judgement.” So, what does it mean to be foolish in a marital or premarital relationship? Foolishness is when your parents go through a lot of suffering to bring you up from childhood, put you through school and you eventually grow up, get married, live in affluence and forget about the same parents, leaving them to suffer hunger in the hinterland; not because you lack, but because you married a wife that you knew hated your parents and has overbearing influence over you. Foolishness is having sex with someone else outside your legally married spouse and assuming that nobody knows about it. Foolishness is when you keep having sex with two different people and keep promising them that you will marry them. Foolishness is when you have sex with someone of the opposite sex who is not legally married to you. It is when you waste the scarce resources of time to indulge ...

The Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has been honored by the Ghana Police Service for her contributions to women policing in Ghana. Her instrumentality also led to female policewomen attending United Nations (UN) missions in other countries which is being witnessed in other jurisdictions. In view of this, the Police Ladies Association (POLAS) at the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of female policing in Ghana honored her for her meritorious contributions to the service. The one-month-long celebration was on the theme: “Celebrating 70 years of Female Policing in Ghana, Her Evolution and Future” Women policing was made up of 12 women during its inception in 1952. Things have worsened and now the only thing I can compare to Ghana’s economy is a refuse dump. If it’s possible, we should bring back John Mahama because when he was in power things were better than it is now. It’s only satan who will say Mahama did not do well when he was president. On why the former President was booted out of power if he was doing the ...
